Amy LeJeune Harper
We can’t tell you how excited we are to announce that Amy LeJeune Harper is has new work in the gallery. Her “abstract aerial landscapes” have been popular with our customers in the past, and you can see a natural evolution of this older work through these new paintings.
“I call this new series ‘Essential Relations,’ and in this body of work, I created a visual vocabulary to describe the complex nature of human relationships within the context of our increasingly chaotic world,” says the artist.
One of the best parts of a gallery owner’s job is watching the progression of an artist’s work over time. While you can see traces of her old style, you can also clearly see where she’s taken it to the next level. Her new paintings reveal a looser, more organic style. We love the layering and drawing withing the paintings and the flowing, almost feminine lines along with her excellent color choices.
Amy LeJeune Harper earned her BFA in painting from the University of Michigan and a Masters in Humanities from Central Michigan University. She is currently an art instructor at Central High School in Traverse City, Michigan where she lives with her husband and two sons.
